President (Semester Long)

 

President – Elect (Year Long)

  • The president-elect’s duties include learning about Beta Alpha Psi and about our chapter’s traditions. You will be scheduling the next semester’s activities during your term as president-elect. The following semester you take over as president. The president works directly with company representatives, providing an amazing networking opportunity. Special events coordinated by the fall president include helping with the Accounting Career Fair, helping with the Beta Auction, and coordinating CPA Night. Special events coordinated by the spring president include assisting with Accounting Awards Night, regional and national Beta Alpha Psi conferences, and Management Accounting Night.

 

Vice President (Semester Long)

  • The Vice President’s duties include serving as the Beta Alpha Psi Dean’s Advisory Council representative, coordinating Beta’s involvement in DAC events (kickball in fall and broomball in spring), and ordering catering service for the speaker meetings.

 

Treasurer (Semester Long)

  • The Treasurer’s duties include timely payments for all charges incurred by Beta, balancing the budget, and maintaining all financial reporting necessary to the National Beta Office. The treasurer also helps with the Beta Auction, our largest fundraiser of the year.

 

VP – Membership (Semester Long)

  • The duties of the VP-Membership include tracing and documenting all participation by Beta members, specifically the candidates. The VP-Membership coordinates the Parent/Pledge Dinner and is responsible to keep continuous contact with candidates to make sure they meet all the requirements to be initiated.

 

VP – Info Systems (Semester Long)

  • The duties of the VP-Information Technology include updating the Beta website, chairing a committee to train other students how to maintain and update the website, and sending out the weekly Beta emails to all members.

 

VP – Publicity (Semester Long)

  • The duties of the VP-Publicity include updating the Beta bulletin board outside the Accounting Department office, making/hanging fliers around Carlson to advertise weekly events, and informing accounting professors of weekly events.

 

VP – Special Events (Semester Long)

  • The VP-Special Events is a team position. Two people run as a slate together at elections. They are responsible for working together and coordinating events throughout the semester. Events coordinated in the fall include the Beta Auction and the End of the Year Party; events coordinated in the spring include the Alumni Golf Outing and the End of the Year Party.

 

VP – Ext. Reporting (Semester Long)

VP – Ext. Reporting Elect (Year Long)

  • The VP-External Reporting-Elect’s duties include creating community services events and coordinating all pledges to complete their required community service hours. The second semester, as VP-External Reporting, you are responsible for all documentation and filings reported to the National Office. This position requires you to communicate with the president to make sure necessary hours and events are completed to be on track to achieve Superior Chapter status.
