MEETINGS

In the beginning of the semester there is a New Member Meeting. Although, new members can join SWSO at anytime. You will have a chance to meet new people, discuss upcoming events. We also have speakers relating to the field of social work come to talk with us. You are not obligated to join if you attend a meeting, so just come check us out! See the Calendar of Events to find out when you can attend our next meeting.

DUES

Dues are $20 for one semester or $30 for the academic year. Make checks payable to SWSO and please give to the treasurer.

POINTS

SWSO encourages all members to be active. The entire group prospers when everyone contributes. Active members should attend most meetings and do volunteer work. You get points for being active. The most active member will be given an award at the end of the semester at the SWSO banquet. 

The point system is as follows:

            A. Attendance at a regular meeting - 5 points

            B. Attendance at a committee meeting - 3 points

            C. Special speakers (i.e. Graduate programs) - 7 points

            D. Volunteer hours - 1 point per hour

            E. Social Activities - 10 points

            F. Committee leaders receive an extra 10 points per semester

            G. Fundraising: point system will be determined by the Executive Board prior to the start of the fundraising event

            H. Other - to be determined by the Executive Board as needed

                                Please keep track of your volunteer hours and participation in activities.
