Senators Hall of Honor

Matthew French

In an attempt to encapsulate my life into a brief paragraph i find it difficult to express the label i wish people to consume...

what type of person am i, what type of man am i...

isn't that a philosophy question...

who is anyone of us...

anyways i will attempt to conform my answer to your question...

t is amusing...

my life and joe's seems to be a little similar at least in our political beliefs...

great minds tend to think a like...

or perhaps it is the logical conclusion...

or perhaps its just my deluded arrogant mind thinking that it is the logical truth...

BOOM.....

i to read adbusters also...

i to...

rant against corporate american...

and at times wish that i could blink out of existence Mammon...

i also read literature and belong to organizations...

that might just get me deported...

just kidding Tommy *wink*...

At the moment i am a part of Whitewater United For Peace..

i have not moved on from philosophy...

philosophy is my nature..

it is in a way in my veins..

and at times i need to bleed to answer the question...

in order to quest.

Joseph Dobzynski, jr.
Class of 2001
Philosophy Club Senator Co-Re-Founder 1999 - 2001

i am living a most unphilosophical life, but perhaps my trip out of the
world of ideals and into the world of realism has taught me more than i have
ever learned from a book.  i have taken more to interesting historical and
post-modern fiction as a means of exploring the current fringe ideas.  i
have also been involved in many left-wing-make-sure-to-get-on-the-fbi-list
groups and subscribe to such magazines as utne, adbusters, and clamor.  i
had given up on philosophy now, the philosopher's magazine, and think after
they started to popularize/media-ize philosophy.  now i still to classic
works.  i am also studying/participating in contemporary catholic
contemplation and meditation as "founded" by st. john of the cross and
teresa of avila and more recently thomas merton.

in july of 2001 after my graduation, i married my high school sweetheart,
amy, and we are currently expecting our first child in april.  we moved to
denver, colorado to seek a new culture and have ended up for work purposes
in grand forks, north dakota.  next destination - unknown.  we have been
ridiculously happy in our marriage, and must be in love to be in north
dakota.  we also have two cats (rocky - big, dumb, and lovable; amber -
lithe, smart, and very much a feline).

i have also started an official record label catering to hip-hop, downtempo,
ambient, noise, idm, and all points inbetween (project aristotle records),
which was an extension of a musings, rantings, and ramblings page i had
before.  in fact, you can find some other philosophy members work still up
and viewable.  there are some things we are working on that might interest
people.  i am also currently working on a novel dealing with twin realities
and bending of time, slightly post-modern but very metaphysical in premise.

as a silent subscriber to the e-mail list, it actually brings a tear to my
eye to see how far the philosophy club has come since five people got
together in a room at the behest of dr. luther and decided to start
chatting.  it looks like outreach to students and to real political changes
has provided a wonderful blending of ideas and action.  that is what this
world needs - ideas that create action past the sound bytes of media and
podiums.

oh yeah, my world has been nothing but suffering, dave.

Frank Sanchez

My name is Frank Sanchez.  I obtained my teaching
certification through the College of Ed.  I'm one of
the three original co-presidents of the Philosophy
Club.

Last year I taught fourth grade at a charter school in
Racine.  This year I'm teaching middle school math
at St. Anthony's on the Lake School in Pewaukee.

Christine and I got married about two years ago, and
we have a beautiful nine-month old daughter, Eliana
(Ellie for short).

There is so much of a philosophic nature to discuss
that the club became a great venue for exchanging
ideas.  I'm very impressed that the club has not only
survived but thrived.  Great work!
