Welcome to the UW-Whitewater Student Optimist Homepage!

UW-Whiterwater Student Optimists are proud to be in their 11th year as a part of Optimist International. Our club has not only helped with various events in the Whitewater area. We've also dedicated our time and resources to various charitable foundations and mission trips. In years past the club has traveled to Jamaica to expand our views and experiences in this world while contributing to a greater cause. In January 2006, members of our club went to Bay St. Louis in Mississippi to assist in various Hurricane Katrina relief projects. Not only do we strive to improve the area in which we live, but also the places where our help is needed most.

Our club is open to Whitewater students of all ages and majors. If you're looking for a fun way to meet new people, become involved on campus and in the community, or simply to knock off a few volunteer hours before graduation, our club may be just what you're looking for. Our meetings are held in University Center South Commons every Thursday night at 5:30. Feel free to drop in and see if the UW-Whitewater Student Optimist Club is for you!

-- The Optimist Creed --

Promise yourself...

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind; To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet; To make all your friends feel that there is something in them; To look at the sunny side of everything, and make your optimism come true; To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best; To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own; To forget the mistakes of the past, and press on to the greater achievements of the future; To wear a cheerful countenance at all times, and give every living creature you meet a smile; To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others; To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, to strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
