Letter to New & General Members

The General Management Organization (GMO) would like to welcome you. Last semester was exciting for us because we worked continuously to make GMO a successful organization. Although our organization focuses on management majors and minors, we welcome anyone who is interested in becoming an active member.

GMO is an organization that can help you become involved with other management students, management professors, students in other majors, and managers in the business world. GMO allows you to have individuality within the organization through a variety of leadership roles. This semester we hope to tour a few organizations and invite speakers to discuss their experiences. These events are to help you achieve the necessary skills and confidence needed to acquire the job you desire after graduation.

Member dues for GMO are $15 per semester. To keep these dues at a minimum all members are asked to contribute to fundraising activities. This semester we are working on some new ideas for fundraising that should be fun and worthwhile. The money collected will go towards paying for mailings, paper used in meetings, workshops, and social events.

Twenty volunteer hours are necessary to graduate from the school of Business and Economics. This semester GMO has set a goal for the organization: 100 hours of volunteer activities. Volunteering is a great way to get involved and meet new people. GMO offers many opportunities to become involved in community service activities.

GMO depends on its members' commitment and enthusiasm to keep the organization going and growing. We look forward to your involvement with GMO to make this a terrific semester!

Enthusiasm is the optimism that fuels life!
